Corrective Jaw Surgery

Corrective or orthgnathic jaw surgery may be required to restore facial and dental harmony whenever a significant skeletal imbalance is present in non-growing individuals. When the upper and lower jaws are properly aligned it can improve chewing, speaking and breathing. Patients that present with difficulty chewing or biting their food, excessive wear of teeth, a protruding jaw, a receding chin or sleep apnea can all greatly benefit from this type of surgery from both functional and esthetic perspectives.
